The buildings that house our suites where built in the 16th century at the time when the Order of St John settled in Valletta.
The city was built on the plans of grandmaster Jean de Valette.

INTRODUCING VALLETTA SUITES
In 2005, when the term ’boutique hotel/accommodation’ was unheard of we decided to start out the VS Experience.
We wanted to create a small collection of spaces where friends and guests could enjoy their stay in Valletta, experience the city like a local.

2006

THE OPENING OF MAISON LA VALLETTE
A typical Maltese house, with limestone walls a wooden beams.
Spaces filled with antiques and eclectic touches.
The success of MLV created high demand and the suite was booked at least a year ahead of time.
The press was also excited about this unique property.

INTRODUCING VALLETTA NOBILE
An open space on the 2nd floor of a converted palazzo, with private entrance at street level. We wanted to created a different space, and not replicate Maison La Vallette. The inspiration of the neighbourhood created yet another exclusive space.

2008

LUCIA NOVA WORKS
Renovation works at Lucia Nova started. Retaining most of the original features was a challenging task. The house was full of original character that we felt had to be retained and incorporated into our decor. The renovation took almost two years.

LUCIA NOVA OPENS DOORS
A true experience of old meets new.
We took ‘conservation’ to a new level, where we retained as much as possible of the original features including doors, paints and tiles.
Designer touches were subtle introduced to create a contemporary experience.

That same year, Valletta Suites™ is awarded the title of one of the 500 Best Hotels, Resorts and Spas in the World for 2011 by Travel + Leisure.
